Bio

I have been obsessed with design for as long as I can remember. After gaining a degree in Illustration at Portsmouth University, back in the 90’s, I had a moment where I realised that what I put on paper made other people smile. It was a revelation.

Being a creative in a creative industry is a real privilege, and one I’ve enjoyed for over 20 years. Running a successful agency gives me not only the opportunity to oversee the creation of truly beautiful work, it also allows me to prove that the companies who invest in design see a huge return on their investment.

In recent years I have started speaking more and more on the tangible value of design, and other creative subjects. This has seen me hosting our own thought leadership events and speaking at venues all over the world, to audiences of over 1,000, at intimate breakfast workshops, and at prestigious industry events.

As a published author and illustrator, it’s very important for me to keep practicing my art. I still draw and paint regularly and am constantly trying new techniques and mediums. I will always strive to create beautiful things.

My design agency, Thursday is in Winchester, where I live with my amazing wife Katy and our three wonderful children - Jess, Charlie and Lily. We have a silly dog called Fox and a wonderfully annoying cat called Rocket.

If you'd like to find out more about me and my agency, have a little watch of this Agencyphonics vodcast.

Illustrations

Over the years I have created illustrations for a wide range of clients, from The Guardian, through to Tate Galleries, Mazda and Hugo Boss. I am represented by Whistlefish, who sell my work online and via their galleries in the South West.

With a growing business and a young family, ‘spare time’ is not something I have a lot of, but I do continue to illustrate for private clients as and when I can.

If you have an idea for an illustration you’d like, get in touch.
